So me and a few buddies of mine decided to go on a hike/camping trip a couple weekends ago.  There was only three of us total, and we had just decided to get away for one night and hit the hills.  So we packed up all we could carry on our backs and headed out.

There are some great hills about ten miles west of where we live, so thats where headed to.  Now since this was just a one nighter, we didn’t bother packing a tent or stove.  We figured we would be fine in just our sleeping bags. So all we really carried were the essentials; sleeping bag, water, food, and your common camping tools.

Well, to make a long story short, by the time we had reached the peak it was just about dark and so we decided to have a quick meal and then hit the sack for the night. Just about the time we were bedding down, we noticed it beginning to snow ever so lightly. At first we brushed it off, thinking it would let up soon enough.  Well, it didn’t. Keep in mind that we had no tent, no stove, no protection.

So for the next half hour we were scrambling in the snow, looking for any sort of shelter.  We finally were able to find a small cave, and that was all it took.  Ten minutes later there were three guys (each in their own sleeping bag, of course) huddled in a small cave trying to catch some sleep. Ah, I love camping.
