An Ozan is an interior cover for the tipi that extends from the back liner section.  It covers and extends over the back of the tipi behind the fire.  This will help keep the tipi dry.  If you do not have time to close your smoke flaps when a storm comes you will be dry under the ozan.  The ozan accomplishes this by shedding the water behind the tipi liner.  It also traps the warmth in the tipi when you build a fire.  You can also hang another piece of fabric (maybe a colorful one) and use it as a privacy shield.  This can also keep bugs out of the back compartment while you sleep.  You can use it as your sleeping quarters.
