How to Fold a Wall Tent

There are several different ways to fold a wall tent, the following instructions describe one of the ways that have proved to work well. This process can be done alone, but is much easier if you have the help of another person.

1. Before you take your tent down, make sure to clean your sod cloth and floor to keep your tent as clean as possible.

2. After you have taken down the tent and removed the frame, make sure your tent is laying in its normal rectangular shape on the ground. Also, make sure you unzip your tent doors at this point.

3. You'll want to begin on the same side of the tent that has the stovejack. Doing this will let you know where the stovejack is and will make it easier to correctly set up your tent the next time you use it.

4. Get one of your buddies to help you at this point. You'll want to grab the two bottom corners of the wall tent on the stovejack side and pull them out sideways.

5. Once you've done that, you'll then want to reach over and grab the eave of the wall tent. (The eave is the corner where the sidewall and roof meet.) Pull the eave of the wall tent over and align it with bottom of the wall that that you pulled out in step 4. In order to do this, you will be folding the tent sidewall in half.

6. After that, reach over and grab the ridge of the wall tent and pull it over so it is aligned with the bottom of the wall tent and the eave of the wall tent.

7. Next, reach over and grab the other eave of the tent and pull it over and align it with the bottom of the wall tent.

8. At this point your doors should be bunching up there at the end of the tent. Take your doors and pull them out so that they are no longer inside of the tent.

9. You may need to make one more fold to get the tent small enough to fit back in its bag. If you need to make another fold, just reach over and grab the bottom of the wall tent and fold it back towards the bottom of the tent that you started with.

10. You can now take your doors and fold them back onto your wall tent. The doors will sit on top of your now folded wall tent.

11. You are now ready to begin rolling the tent up. Begin on the end that does not have the stovejack on it. Use two people if you can, but begin rolling up the wall tent as tightly as possible, make sure to keep the tent straight as you roll it up.

12. Once you have rolled up the entire tent, grab the tent back and slip the tent into the bag, brush off any dirt or leaves that may be on your tent.
